Due to the current heatwave affecting large parts of Europe — and especially the high temperatures in Denmark — ZZvibe may at times feel slower than usual or become temporarily unavailable.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.

ZZvibe runs on our own Danish infrastructure, where we handle the operation of our servers, network, storage, databases, cache layers, background services, and the systems responsible for posts, messages, media, notifications, and platform traffic.

When outside temperatures rise significantly, it does not only affect people — it also affects datacenter operations. Servers constantly generate heat, and during high load periods, substantially more active cooling is required to keep hardware, disks, CPUs, RAM, and network equipment within safe operating limits.

Since ZZvibe is also a free service for our users, we carry the full operational cost ourselves. During peak periods, it can cost us up to 20 USD per hour just to keep cooling at a safe and stable level, allowing the systems to run securely and reliably.

During periods of extreme heat and maximum load, it may, as a last resort, become necessary to temporarily shut down individual servers — or even all of our servers — in a controlled manner. This is not done to create downtime, but to protect the infrastructure from overheating, hardware failure, data corruption, and unnecessary stress on the systems.

For us, protecting user data, server hardware, and the overall platform is more important than pushing the infrastructure beyond safe operating limits.

To protect the infrastructure, we may therefore need to temporarily:

reduce the load on certain services
restart background processes
move traffic between systems
limit heavy tasks for a short period
perform controlled shutdowns if temperatures become critical
prioritize stability and data integrity over speed

This means that the platform may respond more slowly at times, or that certain features — and in the worst case the entire ZZvibe platform — may be temporarily unavailable.

We continuously monitor temperatures, system load, power usage, disk I/O, database performance, and network traffic to ensure that ZZvibe remains as stable and secure as possible under the current conditions.
