The population of the USA is approx. 340 and the rest of the Americas (N&S) is approx. 580. So the population of the USA is a bit more than one third of the total american population. (Correct me if I am wrong.)
We should expect that using the name of the USA is different from using the names of most other countries, and therefore a bit more difficult to use. For example (my proposals): US-american products, citizens of the USA, the population of the USA, US-american history, as parallels to: argentinian products, canadian citizens, the brazilian population, mexican history.
